Theed Street

House Refurbishment, London, Southwark

This listed Georgian terraced house was modernised by replacing a “ramshackle lean-to” at the rear with a light, pristine structure clearly distinct from the original house. The glass and steel extension houses the kitchen on the ground floor and the bathroom above. The building has been sensitively refurbished, narrow slots cut in the ground floor bring daylight into the once unused basement. They are strategically located to visually link the spaces of the house.
