The approach to the design of the exhibition was elementary, a response to the content of the exhibition. The concept of the design was to utilise the existing structure and form of the Barbican Gallery through the insertion of pink acrylic panels into the troughs of the concrete ceiling, which continue into the cells where the exhibition is laid out in themes. A continuous wall and shelf display element visually organise the varying format of the exhibits.
