BackThis factory, for Penelope Textiles, was built on a floor area of 136,000 square feet and is located in Bursa – the first capital of the Ottoman Empire and found along the silk route.
The building was constructed with a simple prefabricated construction system. The admin wing, which includes a show room, was designed around the main hall housing twenty Jacquard looms, such that they are on display during production.
The project entailed innovative use of materials for maximum flexibility of future expansion.
